Lake District Walks: Breathtaking Dramatic Weather along the Fairfield Horseshoe

The Fairfield Horseshoe is one of the most well known and iconic walks in the Lake District. My route begins in the town of Ambleside and follows footpaths to the nearby village of Rydal. From here the hard work begins as I ascended up to Nab Scar, the first Wainwright of the day. From here the entire ridge is followed over Heron Pike and Great Rigg to the 873m summit of Fairfield, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The descent follows the eastern ridge over Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike and Low Pike with dramaticly changing weather including snow flurries! I managed to capture some of the most stunning drone footage and time lapse sequences I have ever shot on this walk... one to live in the memeory forever! Distance: 20.5km Ascent: 1079m Duration: 8 Hours 46 Minutes Have any questions about the route or area I'm walking in? Why not get in touch via Facebook?
