So we changed our plans, packed up, and drove to a riverside campsite in the mountains of Shiga instead. No agenda. No schedule. Just a long, quiet drive through the Japanese countryside, fireworks in the snow with the kids, and a bonfire to end the night. These unplanned days always turn out to be the most beautiful ones.
