Shortly before the outbreak of violence in South Sudan, students of the Dr. John Garang Memorial University in Bor had the opportunity to go an a field trip that led them to various scientific research institutions and universities in Uganda and Kenya. Part 1 of this documentary refers to their visit of the Lake Victoria in Entebbe and Kisumu and to two study tours on board of the research vessels of the Jinja National Fisheries Resources Research Institute(Entebbe), and of OSIENALA, the "Friends of Lake Victoria" (Kisumu).
