Viviane Obenauf – Brazilian immigrant living her dream of boxing and wanting to make Swiss boxing history with her fast fists. She said this confidently a few days before a prestigious fight in Paris. Obenauf lives in the Bernese Oberland on Lake Brienz and is a professional boxer with a Swiss license. In August 2018, 31-year-old Viviane Obenauf had the boxing match of her life: she won in the super featherweight category against the Englishwoman Natasha Jonas. Then in November, the second surprise came: Viviane Obenauf received a unique fight offer. She was to face the Frenchwoman Maiva Hamadouche in Paris and fight for one of the most important titles in the boxing world. Obenauf accepted the invitation and firmly intended to bring the title to Switzerland. Obenauf was born and raised in Brazil. On a trip through Europe, she met her ex-husband in Switzerland and remained in her adopted home, the Bernese Oberland. After the birth of her son seven years ago, she took up boxing to lose the 30 kilos she had gained during pregnancy. After just one year, she became Swiss champion, and four years ago she switched from amateur to professional boxing. She competes in around four fights a year, which now also earn her some money. In addition to boxing, Viviane Obenauf has three jobs that provide her with a steady income. She is also socially active in her home country: In Switzerland, she collects used children's clothing and brings it to needy families in Brazil once a year. Reporter Ilona Stämpfi accompanies the spirited professional boxer to her boxing match in Paris and into her hectic daily life as a mother, waitress, and entrepreneur.
