KOTAAGUNG (August 12, 2025) – The Tanggamus Police handed over the body of a headless man to a family from Cilincing, North Jakarta. The body's identity was revealed through DNA testing, which showed a match to the family. The headless man's body was found washed ashore on Cukuh Pandan Beach, Padangratu Village, Limau District, Tanggamus Regency, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Police took the body to Batin Mangunang Hospital in Kotaagung, and then to the Bhayangkara Hospital of the Lampung Regional Police for an autopsy. Head of the Tanggamus Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Khairul Yasin Ariga, explained the procedures for handling corpses on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Two days later, the family from Cilincing, North Jakarta, contacted the Tanggamus Police after seeing a match to their son's identity, who had gone missing in the Seribu Islands. The family provided identification, photos, and videos of the victim before he disappeared. After interviews, a match was obtained, prompting police to take DNA samples from the victim's mother, older brother, and younger sister for a match. The sample was then sent to the National Police Medical Center for laboratory testing. The results came back on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and the body's DNA matched that of his biological mother, Ernawati. The body was identified as Akbar Tanjung, also known as Aco, 24. He went missing on July 2, 2025, and was reported to the Seribu Islands Police the following day. The Tanggamus Police sent a DNA sample to the National Police Medical Center for laboratory testing. The results came back on August 9, 2025, and the body's DNA matched that of his biological mother, Ernawati. The family from North Jakarta came to Tanggamus to receive the body, which underwent an exhumation and identification process.
