After the installation of the same, a large aqueduct of 1,680 meters was built that came from the abundant springs of Chapultepec, fresh waters that gave Cortés the opportunity to plant enormous quantities of sugar cane in the extensive facilities of the old Hacienda de San Antonio Atlacomulco. Production was taken to the Tlaltenango sugar mill, where it was processed into sugar and transported by pack mules. As is well known, at that time various indigenous communities were established around the Hacienda, which were used by Cortés to perform the arduous tasks, however, due to their little physical resistance, they were replaced by black slaves from the Antilles. A total of 60 slaves from Africa and 120 indigenous people were responsible for giving life to one of the most emblematic haciendas of all. Legend says...
