Breaking Down the Hip Turn Flag Evasion Move — React, Plant, and Explode in Flag Football

🔗 Free training resources for coaches & athletes: dhflagfootball.com Most ball carriers know they need to move their hips — but knowing it and training it are two completely different things. Coach Dakota breaks down the full hip turn flag evasion move using a live reaction drill: reading which side the threat is coming from, opening the opposite direction instantly, planting the correct foot to propel yourself out of the move, and exploding to green grass before the defense has a chance to recover. One of the biggest corrections in this drill is foot placement. You cannot stick your right foot and effectively push yourself left — it kills your speed and your coordination. The foot you plant has to match the direction you are going, and once you feel the difference, you will never go back to doing it the wrong way. The other thing that gets corrected here is foot noise. Heavy, pounding steps telegraph your move before you even make it. Light feet mean faster transitions, better reaction time, and a hip turn that is almost impossible to defend. 🔗 Get the full flag football training breakdown at dhflagfootball.com Subscribe for weekly flag football coaching and player development content from DH Flag Football Academy. 📲 Instagram & Facebook: @dhflagfootball #flagfootball #flagfootballdrills #hipturn #flagfootballtraining #flagfootballcoach #CoachDakota #dhflagfootball #girlsflagfootball #youthflagfootball #womensflagfootball #evasiondrill #flagfootballmoves #ballcarrier #openfield #flagfootballagility
