Young 10 Year Old Jake Andrews Playing With Gatemouth Brown!

Master Blues/Rock Guitar Online: https://bluesrockguitarlessons.com/co... I was fortunate to play with Gatemouth Brown quite a bit, and here’s one of those special moments: joining him onstage for the Texas Connection in 1991. For context, the Texas Connection was an offshoot of Austin City Limits that profiled Texas artists and was hosted by Jerry Jeff Walker. Gate and I rehearsed earlier that day with the band and worked up this song — it was an unforgettable experience. My father owns the 1951 Fender Esquire that Gatemouth used to record his 1954 hit “Okie Dokie Stomp”. We brought it to the studio that day, and he even signed it for me on the back of the headstock. That guitar still sounds incredible! For this performance, I’m playing my 1960 Fender Duo-Sonic through a vintage tweed Fender Bassman — and you get to hear that rad solo of mine! Music has been my life from day one. My father was the guitarist for the ’60s & ’70s roots-rock band Mother Earth, and growing up in Austin, Texas, I was immersed in a rich musical scene. Even as a young kid, I got the chance to sit in with and open shows for blues legends like Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Jimmie Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Otis Rush, and B.B. King — learning firsthand how to be a great blues guitarist. This performance with Gatemouth captures a piece of that journey. I still perform and teach today, and I'm passionate about helping players unlock the fretboard and find their own voice on guitar. #GatemouthBrown #JakeAndrews #BluesGuitar #TexasConnection #VintageGuitars #AustinMusicScene #BluesHistory #OnStageWithLegends _______________ 🎸 Private ZOOM Lessons: 👉 http://www.austinbluesguitarlessons.com 🌐 More from me: https://jakeandrews.com   / jakeandrewsmusic
