In this film I head deep into the beautiful and remote Mosedale Valley before making the tough climb up onto High Pike to spend the night high on the mountain. With freezing temperatures closing in and the wind biting across the fells, the only shelter I carry is a simple British Army Basha. This is stripped-back mountain camping at its best — just a tarp, a few essential tools, and the skills to make a safe camp in harsh winter conditions. As darkness falls and the temperature drops well below freezing, I set up the basha, prepare a warm meal, and settle in for a long cold night high above the valley. The reward comes in the morning with incredible views across the Lake District as the sun rises over the frosted fells. A true test of simple gear, mountain craft, and resilience in one of the most beautiful valleys in England.
