THE GOD OF LOVE AND PEACE | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (May 31, 2026) with Sign Language We have returned to the Ordinary Time; and this Sunday, after Easter and Pentecost, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. During the Easter Season, we celebrated the victorious Resurrection of Jesus, who then ascended into heaven, taking his seat at the right of the Father. He prayed to the Father to send to us another Advocate; and on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended, enabling them to proclaim the mighty deeds of God in Jesus. This is the mystery of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that we are celebrating today, brothers and sisters. In the Gospel according to Saint John, Jesus provides us a beautiful description of the tri-unity of God. To Nicodemus, the Lord says: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” The Father sent his Son in Jesus, who offered his body and blood in expiation for our sins. The Holy Spirit enables us to believe in Jesus, so that we might have salvation and eternal life. The work of salvation continues, brothers and sisters, because our Triune God continues to work in us. Thanks to the Holy Spirit who prompts us to accept and believe in Jesus, who was sent by the Father to redeem us and reconcile us with him.
