Athens and Sparta at War and Thucydides without the trap

Today we consider Athens and Sparta as enemies, not simply from 431 BC onwards, but the earlier, less remembered Peloponnesian Wars. The aim is to consider the relative strengths and weaknesses of each side, as well as the strategies they adopted against each other. Near the end, we consider the oft-mentioned idea of a 'Thucydides' trap' and question the validity of this interpretation.
