Cirrus SR22 Solo Cross Country, to Asheville, Storms, Headwinds and Wind Shear
This cross country flight is normally planned for 3 hours but took 4 hours to get and 4 to get back. Both ways I had terrible headwinds because of very low pressure systems that were in the area. Terrible turbulence for the last hour of the flight when approaching the mountains of North Carolina and all the mechanical turbulence they generated. Wind shear and cross wind landing at Asheville and of course always a direct crosswind at Boca. Had to manage my fuel consumption pretty well due to the extra long flights. Enjoy!
