SAMA Podcast Series: Lead with Me - Episode 14

“Lead with Me,” hosted by Doug Carlberg, is a new podcast series produced by the San Antonio Manufacturers Association (SAMA) that will feature industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators that share their experiences, wisdom, and insights regarding all things manufacturing and beyond. Each month, “Lead with Me” will give podcast subscribers an inside look into a manufacturing professional's life story and key moments that made them who they are today. Episode 14 of the podcast highlights Joe Barto. Joe Barto III is the Founder and President of Training Modernization Group, Inc. (TMG), which he established in 2002 with a mission to help leaders who want to lead build and sustain high-performance teams. Under his leadership, TMG has consistently delivered results for organizations by focusing on trust, values, and disciplined leadership systems that drive long-term success. A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Barto brings extensive leadership experience from both combat and enterprise environments. He served in key operational and strategic roles during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and later contributed to the development of the Joint Training System as an original member of the Joint Warfighting Center. He was also the primary author of the U.S. military’s Joint Training Manual, shaping how large organizations train and lead at scale. Mr. Barto is widely recognized for his expertise in leader identification and development, talent acquisition and retention systems, workforce risk analysis, and continuous process improvement, including Lean and Six Sigma. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a Master of Public Administration in Organizational Theory and Leadership from James Madison University.
