Le lastre ritrovate degli Etruschi: a Tuscania emerge un paesaggio del sacro
In Tuscania, in the Etruscan necropolis of Sasso Pinzuto, the discovery of terracotta architectural slabs has brought to light a previously barely visible sacred landscape. A project conducted by CAMNES - Center for Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies (Florence) and the University of Naples Federico II. The slabs, documented directly by ArchaeoReporter during the excavation beginning in 2023, belong to a building intended for funerary cults, built within the burial ground, directly connected to the burial mounds of aristocratic families. The video follows the excavation in the field and presents the study and restoration of the materials, along with comparisons with other temple terracottas in the area, to illustrate how architecture, ritual, and memory were intertwined in the world of the Etruscans. Scientific sources: A. Naso, M. Zinni et al. – Deliciae Fictiles VI (2025); How Federico works in the field 2023; Etruscan and Italic Studies (2025).
