O Lugar Antes de Mim - Ep.03 Sambaquis

Archaeology, shell mounds, documentary: The Place Before Me is a transmedia documentary series aimed at disseminating audiovisual records about the peoples who inhabited Brazilian territory before the arrival of Europeans. The episodes of the series recover an archaeological time, showing that the history of Brazil has roots in a very remote past. The third episode of this series focuses on Brazilian shell mounds, intentionally constructed mounds of shells dating back 10,000 years (BP), which can measure more than 30 meters in height. The feature film portrays various aspects of the daily life of the populations that lived there and other themes such as the possible ancestral relationship between coastal and riverside shell mounds.
