Turning Junk Mail into Prints | Gel Plate Experiments The Good & The Gash!

Today I’m experimenting with junk mail and shiny leaflets as stencils and masks on my gel plate. I’ll be honest — gel printing sometimes frustrates me, and this wasn’t the most inspiring session at first! But through playing and experimenting I ended up with a couple of prints I really liked (along with some gash ones too). For me, it’s about enjoying the process, seeing what works, what doesn’t, and remembering that making art doesn’t always have to be perfect. I hope this gives you the nudge to try something with the scraps and papers you already have at home. Materials used: junk mail leaflets, gel plate, acrylic paint, drawing paper.
