Iran's 1988 Bloodbath
On August 10, the official website of Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazeri published an audio file containing further proof that Ayatollah Khomeini ordered the execution of thousands of political prisoners in 1988. In the clip, Montazeri is heard talking angrily to the so-called “death panel” responsible for the killings. It also exposes the extent of the involvement and support of some of Iran’s most influential figures, including the current minister of justice and the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini.
