"Skiers and Strangers" by Hans Thorner, 1950s Footage
This 1950s ski film takes the viewer to Kitzbul and Badgastein in the Austrian Alps. The footage captures men's and women's ski races and shows the various ski areas - including lifts at the time. Racers featured include Stein Eriksen (Hall of Fame Class of 2004, Athlete), Andrea Mead Lawrence, Bill Beck, Jack Reddish, Christian Pravda, Zeno Colò, and many more. This film was digitized in 2012 from 16mm film. Sound cuts out at 00:39-03:44, 03:49-05:08, 12:09-13:41, and 25:56-27:45.
