Wie man einen VW Käfer neu lackiert | SWR Handwerkskunst

The VW Beetle – a classic with cult status. Ahmet Yardimici from Weingarten is passionate about this iconic vehicle. He and his team have already restored over 100 Beetles. His latest find, a dusty garage Beetle, is being transformed into a retro police Beetle in his workshop. But green and white paint by itself is not enough. The Beetle is completely dismantled, freed of rust and rebuilt with original or replica parts in great detail. The focus is on precision and tried and tested techniques: from galvanizing stressed areas to carefully applying the primer and layers of paint. Supported by a specially developed special construction, Ahmet and his team work with dedication on every detail. After countless hours, the Beetle finally shines in a green and white paint job – ready to attract attention as a unique specimen at classic car meetings, traffic days or school events. A film about the art of vehicle restoration and the fascination of an automotive classic.
