【ユーフォニアム・テューバ九重奏（八重奏）】燕の舞（Tsubame-no-Mai (Swallow Dance) for Euphonium & Tuba Nonet (or Octet)）※MIDI音源 作曲：大野雄士（ONO, Yuji） ＜曲目解説＞ 関門海峡に舟島という無人島があります。歴史上最も有名な決闘が行われたこの島は、とある剣豪の通り名を冠しこう呼ばれれています。その名は“巖流島”。 宮本武蔵と佐々木小次郎の決闘は、小次郎が意図的に決闘に遅れた武蔵に対して苛立ち、冷静さを失ったことにより打ち取られる場面が大変有名です。しかし、実際は陰謀と策略が渦巻く権力争いの中で仕組まれた決闘であったと記録が残っています。 物語の舞台は細川氏が率いる細川藩、佐々木一族が力をつけ一揆を恐れた藩は一族を懐柔するために小次郎を剣術の師範として迎えました。 しかしながら、その思惑は裏目に出ることになります。小次郎は藩内での地位を盤石なものとし、細川氏を脅かす存在となったのです。 細川氏は武蔵を小次郎へ仕向け殺害を企てます。さらに決闘に護衛を同行させ小次郎の抹殺を完全なものとしました。 決闘は武蔵の勝利となり小次郎は倒れますが、その時小次郎は一命を取り留めていました。しかし、護衛によって小次郎はとどめをさされてしまったのです。 この作品では、誰もが知る巖流島の物語りとは異なる小次郎の物語りを、ユーフォニアムとテューバの音楽で描いていきます。 1. 滝の下の剣 〜”燕返し”を生み出した誇り高き剣豪〜 （0:01） テューバソロによる主題（小次郎のテーマ）が変奏や拡大をしながら展開していく序曲。 英雄譚（えいゆうたん）のように勇ましく曲は進み、劇的にクライマックスを迎える。 2. 細川氏の暗躍 〜佐々木一族への裏切り〜 （3:08） 重く暗い主題によるシャコンヌ。中間部では小次郎に対する暴力的な計略を思案する激しい描写が現れるが、再び思惑が闇に消えるように静かに曲は閉じられる。 3. 最期の戦い 〜巖流島への出立、決闘〜 （8:36） 夜明けのように主題が奏されながら曲は展開し、最高潮を迎えたところで決闘の描写へと転換する。決着の時は激しくグロテスクに迎えられる。 4. 巖流島 〜誇り高き剣豪の追憶、燕の舞う島〜 （13:10） 追憶の彼方を憂う物悲しい主題から曲は展開し、一転エネルギッシュに曲は閉じられる。全楽章の中で、唯一現在の”巖流島”を描写をした楽章。 The uninhabited island of Funa-shima lies in the Kanmon Straits. It was here the most famous duel in Japanese history, known as "Ganryujima", was fought. The duel between Musashi Miyamoto and Kojiro Sasaki is very famous for the scene in which Kojiro is struck down when he loses his temper in frustration over Musashi's deliberate delay to the duel. History tells us though the battle was really a ruse of intrigue and trickery to gain a balance of power. The Hosokawa clan, fearing a revolt led by the Sasaki clan, invite Kojiro to become their master of swordsman. Soon, Kojiro's position within the clan grew so strong that he became a threat to the leadership. To save their power, the Hosokawa clan set Musashi against Kojiro with orders to kill him. To ensure victory, Musashi and his bodyguards attack Musashi together. Musashi wins the duel with Kojiro, causing him to fall but not be mortally injured. Eventually, Kojiro's bodyguards put an end to Kojiro. Tsubame-no-Mai portrays the story of Kojiro, which is different from the story of Ganryujima which everyone knows. 1. Secret Techniques like Swallow - sword under the waterfall - the proud swordsman who created "Tsubame-gaeshi" 　 Presented by solo tuba, Kojiro's theme develops with variations provides the musical core in this overture. The piece progresses valiantly like a heroic tale, reaching a dramatic climax. 2. Secret Manuever - the Hosokawa Clan's Dark Act - Betrayal of the Sasaki Clan 　 A chaconne with a heavy and dark theme. In the middle section, the composer describes a violent plot against Kojiro, but the piece closes quietly as if the plot disappears into the darkness again. 3. The Last Battle - departure for Ganryujima, duel 　 The theme plays like the dawn as the piece unfolds, and at its climax, it turns into a description of a duel. The time of the final battle is greeted in a violent and grotesque manner. 4. GANRYU-JIMA (GANRYU Island) -remembrance of a proud swordsman, the island where swallows dance The piece develops from a sad theme that laments the distant past, and then closes energetically.
