After a string of odd jobs in eateries, he decided to try his hand at a bajji (fried fritter) gaadi (cart) in Jayanagar 4th block, Bengaluru. It’s been 42 years since; the location of his cart has changed from one street to another over the years, but the place that his fried wares occupy in the hearts and palates of his neighbourhood patrons remains constant to this day. Also perhaps making Kundapura Bonda Bajji Shop one of the area's oldest street food carts! I visited him one cloudy Bengaluru evening to taste all the bondas and bajjis he and his son have on offer.
