Final Era of Southern Pacific on Tennessee Pass Line 1994-1996! The Southern Pacific Railroad climbed over the mountainous Continental Divide, through spectacular breathtaking scenery, of the former Denver & Rio Grande Western Royal Gorge Route and Tennessee Pass line. Classic locomotive types included former Rio Grande SD40T-2 tunnel motors, SP GP60, B40-8, SD45, SD40M-2, SD40T-2 and SD45T-2 tunnel motors, and modern for the time, AC4400CW class units. This was the final era of the Southern Pacific before its September 1996 absorption into the massive Union Pacific system.
