HUMANS OF NKTI - Serafin “Sunny” Evangelista

#NationalKidneyMonth HUMANS OF NKTI - Serafin “Sunny” Evangelista For nearly a decade, Serafin “Sunny” Evangelista’s annual checkups revealed a small irregularity in his prostate. Doctors noted it and reassured him that it was not yet alarming. Life went on. Then came the pandemic, the loss of his job, and a pause in the routine screenings that had quietly kept watch over his health. When Sunny eventually returned for a checkup, the story had changed. Further tests led to a diagnosis of early-stage prostate cancer. What followed was a journey that brought him to NKTI and one of the country's newest surgical technologies. Today, Sunny's story is a reminder that some of the most serious diseases begin not with pain or disability, but with subtle signs that only vigilance can catch. Early detection is the reason a second chance remains possible. This testimonial video is part of NKTI’s celebration of National Kidney Month and was produced by the NKM Organizing Committee and the Strategy Management Division - Corporate Communications Section.
