During this outing near a local pond in Shediac, New Brunswick, I was fortunate to capture this remarkable bird both perched on a branch and in flight as it patrolled the area. Known for its distinctive rattling call, shaggy crest, and impressive fishing skills, the Belted Kingfisher is a true master of the water's edge. Tracking this fast-moving bird through the viewfinder was a rewarding challenge, especially as it darted between perches and made quick passes over the water.
