Venezuelan man, who befriended Cassie-Ann Lemessy, has been linked to her murder:

Female contractor allegedly gunned down over husband's stolen gold chain she attempted to retrieve. The 41-year-old female contractor was gunned down in a vehicle outside her home along Church Road, Mayaro, on Tuesday, 17th June, 2025. The victim has been identified as Cassie-Ann Lemessy, of LP #52 Church Road, Mayaro. It is alleged that the fatal shooting is linked to an incident at a bar in Manzanilla several weeks earlier. Lemessyu's husband was robbed of a gold chain and she was trying to get it back. She crossed the paths of two of the robbers who ran a gang in the Manzanilla district. Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, officers at the Mayaro Police Station responded to a report of loud explosions in the area. Upon arrival at LP #54 Church Road, they discovered Lemessy's motionless body inside vehicle PEE 6426, which was parked under a shed. She was seated between the driver and front passenger seats, leaning against the passenger side door. The vehicle bore multiple gunshot holes to the windscreen and both front doors. Six spent shells were recovered at the scene by crime scene investigators, along with other items of evidential value. The District Medical Officer viewed the body and officially pronounced death at the scene.
