Puerto Vallarta-Mismaloya Waterfalls Hike

A hike to the first three of the Mismaloya Waterfalls (Cascades de Mismaloya), with drone views of the upper two waterfalls as well. We hired Curiel of Curiel Xperience as our guide; links to his website below. The updated trail starts to the south of Los Veranos, about an hour southwest of downtown Puerto Vallarta. Curiel picked us up at our hotel (Villa Lala in Boca de Tomatlan) and we drove to have breakfast in Los Veranos. We had a fun Canadian couple, Katrina and Spencer, on the tour with us as well. After breakfast, we drove across what seemed to be multiple ranch properties, opening and closing several cattle gates as we went. Once we arrived at the parking area, the hiking trail was generally straight forward. The trail has some elevation gain in both directions, since you drop down to the river from the parking area. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug spray. The hike through the jungle is beautiful but it can be hot as well.
