Straight Razor Shave and a Murphy and McNeil Garda Siochana Review

Finally! A new soap base to try out, and what a great soap for a great cause on a GREAT day. Murphy and McNeil teamed up with Ruds Shaves to come up with a soap where a portion of the proceeds go to the Officer Ronald Tarentino, Jr. Fund which benefits those dealing with severe medical issues, support to First Responders and Military service members and veterans as well as scholarships for seniors moving into their college years. The soap, Garda Siochana (meaning "guardian of peace"), is a tribute to those that walk the thin blue line. It's a bright accord similar in overall scope to a barbershop, with a little bit more in there. I'm reminded of a mixture of Fine's American Blend mixed with Creed Silver Mountain Water. A really well made scent, (modeled after Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue Pour Homme), the soap base is no slouch either. I paired it with the Declaration B5 Knot in a Wild West Brushworks handle (26mm) and the Friodur 6/8" 472 straight razor. Truly a fine shave for this year's Independance Day!
