Looking around, Abundance from Within, from E to Am

This nearly 18-minute piece begins in the open brightness of E major and gradually finds its way into the more reflective world of A minor. The transition is not immediate. The music circles around it, briefly touches A minor, pulls away, and then continues exploring until the change finally feels inevitable. One of my favorite sections holds an E in the bass while the right hand moves through a wide range of sixths, creating a slowly developing melody over a constant harmonic foundation. Elsewhere, there are a few stranger and more unsettled moments that seem to test the boundary between the two tonal centers. The piece never becomes especially fast or loud, but it is always changing. New patterns emerge, ideas evolve, and the music keeps moving forward—slowly, patiently, and without demanding too much attention. It works especially well as a focus track for writing, reading, designing, studying, or simply allowing your thoughts to settle while the music continues unfolding in the background. 🎹 Headphones recommended. Note I was testing a different mic on this one. Future recordings should be clearer, each mic has its own character as does each instrument--and in some cases the day I play the instrument. #FocusMusic #PianoMusic #InstrumentalMusic #StudyMusic #AmbientPiano #Improvisation
