Evaluating environmental performance in supply chains depends on defining standardized metrics, such as carbon footprint (CO₂eq), energy consumption per ton-km, and packaging reuse index (GOMES, 2021). The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) provide specific guidelines for logistics, allowing for comparability of results between companies (GRI, 2022). ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reports integrated into strategic planning facilitate data-driven decision-making by combining environmental performance indicators with social aspects (working conditions, safety) and governance aspects (transparency, compliance) (CARVALHO, 2020). Business Intelligence (BI) tools and advanced analytics platforms, powered by IoT sensor data, enable real-time visualization of sustainability metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement (LIMA; NOGUEIRA, 2023). Certification of sustainable supply chains, such as ISO 14001 and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), reinforces organizations' commitment and attracts investors who value responsible practices (ISO, 2015; CDP, 2022). Integrating these standards into ESG reporting ensures the credibility of the information disclosed and promotes corporate reputation in the global market (SANTOS; PEREIRA, 2021).
