عمر حجيرة: المغرب قطب صناعي وتجاري إقليمي ومنصة واعدة للتعاون الأورومتوسطي-الخليجي

Mr. Omar Hejira, Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Trade in charge of Foreign Trade, participated in the opening session of the fourth Euro-Mediterranean-Gulf Parliamentary Economic Forum, held in Marrakech on June 19 and 20, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He emphasized that the world is going through a delicate economic phase characterized by escalating geopolitical crises, disruptions to supply chains, and rising transportation and energy costs. He stressed the need for a shared system of industrial and trade sovereignty between the Euro-Mediterranean region and the Gulf States, and called for seizing the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as an open market of 1.3 billion people. He reviewed the Kingdom's achievements under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, highlighting how Morocco has become a regional industrial and commercial hub thanks to its automotive and aerospace industries, major ports such as Tangier Med, Nador West Med, and Dakhla Atlantic, as well as its renewable energy and green hydrogen sectors, and trade agreements with more than one hundred countries. He highlighted the importance of the Royal Atlantic Initiative to facilitate access to the Atlantic for Sahel countries, as a project that strengthens integration between Africa, the Euro-Mediterranean region, and the Gulf States. He concluded by calling for the development of a model for trilateral cooperation between Morocco, the Gulf States, and the European Union, based on the integration of investments, technology, and productive capacities.
