Make This Persian Love Cake For Valentine’s Day | Persian Love Cake Recipe Soft, luscious and bursting with rose flavour, this Persian Love Cake is an absolute treat for Valentine’s Day. This cake is soaked with hot syrup to make it moist and decadent and add extra flavor. Finish it with pistachio and rose petals to make it beautiful and luxurious for special occasion such as Valentine’s Day! I love the name of this cake. There is a story behind the name that once upon a time there was a Persian woman madly in love with a Persian prince. To make him fall in love with her, she baked him this cake, filled with key Persian spices and seasonings such as saffron, rose water, cardamom and lemon zest. What you will need : 23 cm (9 inch) springform pan lined with parchment paper Ingredients for the cake: • 1 cup (150 g) almond (or 1 ½ cup almond meal) • 1 cup (175 g) semolina flour • 1/2 cup (60 g) cup all-purpose flour • 1 tablespoon (14.5 g) baking powder • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 120 g unsalted butter, softened at room temperature • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar • 3 medium eggs, room temperature • 3/4 cup (180 g) plain yoghurt • 1 tablespoon lemon zest • 1 tablespoon rose water • 1 tablespoon saffron water Ingredients for the syrup: • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar • 1/4 cup (85 g)honey • 3 tablespoons lemon juice • 2 tablespoons saffron water • 1 tablespoon rose water Optional toppings: • Silvered Persian pistachios • Rose petals Subtitles are available!
