Orvieto, Italy- a Charming Hilltop Town! Located in Umbria Italy Orvieto is located in the Umbria Region of Italy and was the perfect stop for us to explore as we traveled from Rome to Florence. Orvieto was the alternate offered to our tour group since the visit inside the colosseum was canceled. This town has so much to see I was disappointed we only had about 1-1/2 hour to roam the town. The Orvieto Cathedral: Duomo Di Orvieto was the most stunning cathedral I have ever seen! Orvieto is one of the oldest inhabited areas in Italy dating back to the Etruscan civilization that settled here in the 9th century.
