SERMON FOR THE FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITATIC Philemon 1:4-7 LOVE THAT JOYS AND STRENGTHENS Rev. Wahyu Siregar, S.Th Does our presence make others stronger or more exhausted? Through God's Word in Philemon 1:4-7, we are invited to reflect on a love that is not only spoken but truly felt by others. The Apostle Paul praised Philemon not for his wealth, position, or success, but because his love had become a source of joy, comfort, and strength to many. In this sermon, we will learn that: Love that rejoices begins with a grateful heart. Love that strengthens stems from faith in Jesus Christ. True love must begin in the family as the Ecclesia Domestica (Domestic Church). Christ's love calls us to be individuals who refresh and strengthen others. In an increasingly harsh world filled with stress, conflict, and the exhaustion of life, God's Word reminds us that every Christian family is called to be a place of strengthening, forgiveness, and the manifestation of Christ's love. May this sermon empower us all to become individuals who, when present in our families, churches, and communities, bring joy, comfort, and strength to many.
