2027 Kia Niro Revealed – Big Changes, But One Major Feature Is Gone!

The 2027 Kia Niro is officially here, bringing a fresh new look, upgraded technology, and one major surprise that many buyers didn't see coming. For 2027, Kia has completely simplified the Niro lineup. The plug-in hybrid is already gone, and now the fully electric Niro EV has been discontinued as well. That means the new Niro is available exclusively as a hybrid. Power comes from the familiar 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 139 horsepower through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. While performance remains unchanged, the focus is on efficiency, comfort, and everyday usability. Visually, the 2027 Niro receives a much cleaner and more modern design inspired by Kia's latest models. Up front, you'll notice redesigned vertical LED headlights, a slimmer front fascia, and a cleaner grille design. Around back, updated taillights and a simplified rear bumper give the SUV a more refined appearance. Kia also introduces two new exterior colors: Ivory Silver and Sunset Beige. Inside, the cabin gets a major technology upgrade. Every model now comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, creating a sleek dual-screen dashboard. Kia has also redesigned the steering wheel, air vents, and improved cabin insulation for a quieter ride. Safety has been enhanced as well. The 2027 Niro features an upgraded Forward Collision Avoidance System, available 360-degree camera, and the new Highway Drive Assist 2, which helps maintain speed, distance, and lane position during highway driving. Kia is also introducing a new S trim level, joining the existing LX, EX, and SX models. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but expect a slight increase over the current starting price of around $28,900. Sales are scheduled to begin later this summer.
