◆Video Title [Punch-kun's Diary 🐵] That makes it 6 losses out of 6 matches for Punch-time 😣 Perhaps due to the heat today, Punch is reenacting the famous "Don't push me, seriously don't push me!" comedy routine by the group Dacho Club at the pond—Ichikawa City Zoo & Botanical Garden. Filmed on July 12, 2026. I’ve been following the growth of Punch-kun at the Ichikawa City Zoo & Botanical Garden. Since I visit frequently, I don't go to the very front row; instead, I film from the back. I watch Punch-kun through the gaps in the crowd. Of course, if the place is completely empty, I’ll watch from the front row, but otherwise, I stay in the back. I even watch from the back during feeding time. Punch-kun is a Japanese macaque born on July 26, 2025. He began living on the monkey mountain at the Ichikawa City Zoo & Botanical Garden on January 19, 2026. He does have a mother, but because it was her first birth and the summer heat was intense, she ended up abandoning him. Keepers raised Punch-kun when he couldn't survive on his own, but they decided that keeping him entirely hand-reared wouldn't be best for him in the long run. So, on January 19, 2026, they released him onto the monkey mountain to see how he would adapt. When he first arrived, he was bullied by various older monkeys but endured it bravely; watching him grow little by little is truly inspiring and soothing. As for the orangutan plush toy Punch-kun carries (nicknamed "Oran-Mama"): Japanese macaques, like humans, grow up being raised by their mothers, and the lack of a mother can cause stress. When keepers gave him an IKEA orangutan plushie, he started hugging it. In the past, a similar thing happened when a monkey was given a Rilakkuma plushie; she seemed to believe it was her mother—or perhaps a friend—and would hug it constantly. However, that monkey (Otome-chan) eventually let go of the plushie and became independent around the age of one year and two months, so Punch-kun might also let go of "Oran-Mama" in a few months. By the way, did you know Otome-chan is also at the same zoo? She became a huge hit worldwide, capturing hearts with her adorable appearance as she cuddled her orangutan plushie.
