Not long ago, just at the beginning of the 21st century, Ottakringer Straße still had the reputation of being the most dangerous street in Vienna. In recent years though this has changed completely and nowadays it is home to many clubs and bars which are especially popular among people from the Balkans and is buzzing with life. Ottakringer Straße marks the border between Vienna's 16th district Ottakring and Vienna's 17th district Hernals.
