Sadness and grief again enveloped the city of Dubno with a black ribbon - on September 3, the citizens of Dubno met a funeral procession with the body of the fallen Warrior Oleg Romanyuk. The life of the courageous Defender ended on October 16, 2024 on the battlefield near Toretsk in the Donetsk region. For ten months, the warrior was considered missing and, unfortunately, the worst was confirmed. The warrior was born and raised in the city of Dubno, studied at the Rivne Agricultural College, worked in construction. He was friendly, kind and sincere. He loved to fish and hunt. He did not stand aside from the events in the country. He was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity and from the first days of the full-scale invasion stood in defense of Ukraine In memory of the fallen Hero on Independence Square, the anthem of Ukraine sounded, those present bowed their heads in a minute of silence. Priests of the Dubno Deanery of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine prayed for the repose of Warrior Oleg Romanyuk on the central square of the city. The deceased Hero is survived by his mother, brother, and nephews. Words of pain, sorrow, and boundless gratitude were heard during the farewell ceremony, because Oleg Romanyuk was a part of our community, our country. The requiem song "The Duck is Flowing" was played. After the farewell, the funeral procession, accompanied by priests, choir, family, volunteers of "On the Shield" and caring Dubno residents, moved to the St. Nicholas Monastery, where the funeral service was held. The Hero's final resting place was the Alley of Glory at the Semidubsky cemetery. May the bright and eternal memory of Warrior Oleg...
