Backpacking in the Sespe Wilderness // Willett Hot Spring

Come along with me on an overnight backpacking trip through the Sespe wilderness. Along the way, there were some great views, beautiful wildflowers, a vibrant river, convenient campsites, and relaxing hot springs! On this trip, I started from Piedra Blanca Trailhead and hiked 11 miles to Willet Hot Spring. After hanging out there for a bit, I headed back the way I came and camped at one of the first sites I saw when I was heading out. My first day totaled 17.5 miles. I had an excellent campsite, private, and right by the river. In the morning I only had 4.5 miles left to my car. I sure did learn a lesson about laying in the grasses without long pants/sleeves and bug spray because now I am suffering and covered in bug bites. Overall it was an excellent trip and I am looking forward to going back for a longer adventure! There are more hot springs along that trail for me to go explore!
