Mercury Outboard L3, L4, & L6 Rectifier Test
A quick vid on how to test if a rectifier is operational. There are 4 test total and if the rectifier fails any of the tests it needs to be replaced. You can also hook up a volt meter directly to the positive terminal (output post) and see if the voltage increases while the engine is running. Just be sure the volt meter is properly grounded.
