Adventure riding across one of the most brutal high desert landscapes that North America Has to offer.. EPISODE NUMBER SIX of riding the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route AND Washington Backcountry Discovery Route. In this video, we finally leave the Northern forests and mountains behind in exchange for the opportunity to traverse a brutal desert region. We were heading into a place that I knew all too well as a potential death trap if the weather turned against us. Sadly for us, it did.. Our first day in the desert was an exciting change of pace, but was ultimately shrouded by a windy cold front that was moving in ahead of a couple storms. The remaining two days in the desert were filled with rain, lightning, struggles at sourcing fuel, climbing mountains, and one of the sketchiest night rides of my life..
