OVER 30 HOURS Spent Trying to Escape This Remote Mountain Pass.. | Episode 1

The story of an early season single track ride turned into a survival situation. In June of 2024, my friend an I began one of the most challenging single track trails I have ever ridden in the Pacific Northwest. On this early season ride, we will encounter everything from deadfall and water crossings, to snow and high exposure cliffs. Ultimately, one wrong turn will set in stone our fate of sleeping on the trail at nearly 8,000 feet in elevation with temps dropping below freezing that night. The purpose of creating this mini series is not to glamorize this situation, but to show other single track riders how these situations happen. In terms of what could have gone wrong on this ride, it seems like we had a bit of everything. Lots of lessons to be learned.
