"OUR TIME" - JANIS IAN - "AT SEVENTEEN"

"Our Time" stars Pamela Sue Martin and Parker Stevenson as two students in a New England school in 1955 who fall deeply in love, but their relationship becomes challenged by those around them, leading to difficulties and tragedy. The film was unfortunately overlooked at the time of it's release, but it's every bit as good as "Summer Of '42." The film has the same sort of feeling, a great melancholia for the past. Co-starring Betsy Slade and George O' Hanlon Jr. The music for my tribute is "At Seventeen" by Janis Ian. Fun movie fact: Betsy Slade was Brian De Palma's original choice for Carrie White in "Carrie." Only after pressure from the studio did De Palma reluctantly do the film with the more well-known Sissy Spacek. Betsy Slade should've had an Oscar nod for "Our Time." She was robbed.
