"Somos acusados de NÃO amar o Papa" - Superior Geral da FSSPX

The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) ordained four new bishops without papal mandate. The ceremony, held at the fraternity's headquarters in Ecône, Switzerland, resulted in automatic excommunication for the ordained bishops and celebrants. Despite appeals made by Pope Leo XIV, the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) ordained four new bishops this Wednesday, the 1st. The ceremony, held at the fraternity's headquarters in Ecône, Switzerland, was performed without papal mandate, resulting in automatic excommunication for those involved. The four bishops ordained are: Pascal Schreiber, from Switzerland; Michael Goldade, from the United States; Michel Poinsinet de Sivry and Marc Happier, from France. The hands were laid upon them by Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta, the first consecrator, and Bishop Bernard Fellay—the only surviving bishops out of the four who were ordained on June 30, 1988, by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, also in a schismatic act. The SSPX consecrated the bishops citing the need to guarantee the continuity and very survival of the congregation, even with attempts at dialogue from the Holy See and warnings against proceeding with a schism, made by the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernández, and Pope Leo XIV.
