December 2021 Namibia part 13, Kaokoveld, Drums, desert and rock friends.

4x4 only driving conditions, meeting someone halfway up a hill and witnessing the devastating drought consequences. There is no more Marienfluss, no more livestock and very little game. The Himba people have been almost destroyed by the drought and most have left the little settlements and gone to bigger centres with boreholes and are relying on tourists and the government to survive. We came across an abandoned Mica mine and a small group of people desperate for help. Once back on the desert floor we visited Bloudrom, Oranjedrom and Groendrom. Many Lone stone men crossed our path. We camped in a dry river bed that night.
