The Medieval House with Painted Beams | Spotlight On...

The medieval house from North Cray, Kent, is one of the finest surviving examples of a late medieval hall house from south-east England. Originally constructed in the 15th century, it reflects both the architectural traditions and everyday social life of a prosperous village community during the later Middle Ages. It was built as a four-bay timber-framed hall house, a form that was extremely common in southern and midland England at the time.
