WINTER Tuna in the Hauraki Gulf?!

WINTER Tuna in the Hauraki Gulf?! I headed out for a morning fish in the Hauraki Gulf on the jet ski with a simple plan: catch a few snapper and bring home some fresh fish for lunch. The conditions were perfect, and before long I had some quality snapper in the bin. With lunch sorted, I pointed the ski toward home, thinking the day was winding down. Then everything changed. On the run back in, I spotted tuna busting up on the surface. Finding tuna in the Hauraki Gulf at this time of year wasn't something I expected to see, let alone hook. After watching fish repeatedly crashing the surface, I couldn't resist having a cast. A few moments later I was hooked up and battling a fish that wasn't even on my radar when I launched that morning. Join me for an epic morning mission in the Hauraki Gulf as I chase snapper for lunch and stumble across an incredible winter tuna encounter.
