Cape Town Mayor briefed on alleged fraud relating to municipal contracts
Cape Town mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, says he was informed about the alleged fraud relating to municipal contracts about a month ago. This follows the raids on 26 premises across the metro by the police's Commercial Crimes Investigation Unit over the past two days. Hill-Lewis says the city manager reported the matter to him and also launched an investigation, after which the matter was handed over to the police for investigation.
