Three SASSA officials allegedly arrested for over R260 mln fraud: Prof Dumisani Mabunda

At least three South African Social Security Agency officials who are allegedly linked to more than R260 million fraud from beneficiaries through ghost SASSA cards were arrested yesterday in Johannesburg. SASSA has launched a manhunt for four of its officials believed to be connected to the same syndicate. The arrest of the three suspects follows the major weaknesses exposed by Stellenbosch University science students in SASSA's IT systems affecting its social grant payment system.
