President Bola Ahmed Tinubu On Thursday directed Vice President, Kashim Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation at the 79th United Nations General Assembly Session taking place in New York. The president’s special adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the announcement, in a statement on X, stating that the president wants to focus on domestic issues and address some of the country’s challenges, especially after the recent devastating flooding in parts of the country. The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency announced that water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon, has been released into River Niger and River Benue in Nigeria’s North Central. The agency warned Nigerians residing in floodplains to relocate immediately to safe spaces in anticipation of attendant floods that annually come with the release of water from the Lagdo Dam. Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Thursday, promised to invest $1 billion dollars in Nigeria over the next five years. The investment commitment was made when Coca-Cola’s global leadership team, met with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the state house in Abuja. President Tinubu commended Coca-Cola for its long-standing partnership with Nigeria and for employing over 3,000 people across nine production facilities. Tinubu stated that the investment highlights his administration’s commitment to creating a robust financial system and a business-friendly economy. The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has clarified his statement, maintaining that the election is a do or die affair, because the people of Edo state will be doomed if the APC takes over the state. The Public Relations Officer Of the Nigerian Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has clarified the viral video of policemen arresting a PDP leader in Edo. According to his tweet, the policemen were on official duty investigating the killing of a fellow officer at Benin airport in july. Adejobi emphasized that the suspect is accused of murder and will still be arrested.
