October 4, 2024 KBFL - Bakersfield, CA This is the full and uncut version with silence removed of the official ATC audio recording via a submitted FOIA - Freedom of Information Act Request. On October 4, 2024 a King Air BE9L, registration N6077X was en route to KMRY via KHND at FL200 when the pilot became incapacitated. Under the instruction from multiple air traffic controllers and pilots the passenger took control and was diverted to KBFL - Bakersfield Meadows Airport. A US CBP aircraft, 'TROY 315', was diverted to intercept and help guide the passenger down safely.
